Jake Gyllenhaal deciphers 'Source Code'

Oscar-nominated "Brokeback Mountain" star Jake Gyllenhaal is almost set to star in Duncan Jones' new sci-fi thriller "Source Code," which Summit Entertainment will bring to theaters.

Variety says the film will focus on a soldier who wakes up in the body of a commuter and relives a train bombing until he figures out who's behind the attack. Sounds a bit like "Deja Vu" to me.

Duncan Jones plans 'Escape from the Deep'

Duncan Jones, who directed the sci-fi drama "Moon," is set to helm "Escape from the Deep," an adaptation of Alex Kershaw's book, according to Variety. Kershaw is writing the script, which follows the true story of the USS Tang submarine, which was hit by one of its own torpedoes during WWII. After sinking to the bottom of the ocean, the crew tried to escape and reach the surface.

The trade says Jones is glad he's able to tell this story, considering he was always fascinated by films such as "Das Boot" and "Crimson Tide." Jones' "Moon," which has been screening at various festivals recently, has generated a lot of positive buzz. The film stars Sam Rockwell as an astronaut who exeriences a personal encounter while stranded on the moon for a three-year period.
