'True Blood' actress joins 'Mother's Day' remake

Deborah Ann Woll in True Blood

Actress Deborah Ann Woll has signed on to star in Darren Lynn Bousman's upcoming horror remake "Mother's Day" for Twisted Pictures (the studio behind the "Saw" flicks).

Woll, of course, is known for playing Jessica Hamby on television's "True Blood." She also briefly appeared on episodes for "My Name is Earl" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

"Day" is a remake of Charles Kaufman's 1980 horror classic. In the new version, a crazy family returns to their old house to terrorize the new owners and their guests, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Bousman's credits include "Repo! The Genetic Opera" and three "Saw" films. Unsurprisingly, the release for "Day" is planned for some time around Mother's Day next year.
