Brand-new teaser poster for 'The Crazies' remake

Ouverture Films today released a brand-new teaser poster for its upcoming horror remake "The Crazies," which is currently set for release Feb. 26, 2010. Check out this simple, yet cool poster right after the jump.

"The Crazies" is a reinvention loosely based upon the George Romero classic about the inhabitants of a small Iowa town beset by insanity and then death after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply.

Danielle Panabaker books 'The Ward'

Danielle Panabaker books The Ward

Danielle Panabaker is ready to check into John Carpenter's "The Ward" for Echo Lake Entertainment, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Amber Heard ("Remember the Daze") is on-board as a patient on a psychiatric ward who is terrorized by a mysterious appearance. Panabaker plays a snobbish patient who faces electroshock therapy.

Also starring in the psychological thriller is Mamie Gummer, whose credits include "Taking Woodstock," "Stop-Loss" and "The Hoax."

Carpenter hasn't directed anything major since 2001's "Ghosts of Mars." He's currently gearing up to helm "Riot" with Nicholas Cage in the lead role.

As for Panabaker, she was last seen in the "Friday the 13th" remake. Other credits include "Shark," "Mr. Brooks" and the upcoming "The Crazies" remake.

Cannavale, Panabaker have 'Weakness'

Bobby Cannavale, June Diane Raphael and Danielle Panabaker have boarded Michael Melamedoff's upcoming indie drama "Weakness."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lily Rabe, Jason Jones and Liz Cackowski are also on board of the film, which Melamedoff wrote.

As far as the plot is concerned, "Weakness" centers on a school teacher whose life takes a turn for the worse when he loses his wife during the summer break.

Cannavale was last seen in "Paul Blart: Mall Cop." His credits also include "Snakes on a Plane," "Shall We Dancce," and one of my personal favorite films, "The Station Agent."

Panabaker, who recently starred in the "Friday the 13th" remake, has several projects lined up, including "The Crazies" and "Prodigy." As for Raphael, her credits include "Zodiac" and "Bride Wars."

Panabaker, Anderson board 'Crazies' remake

Danielle Panabaker and Joe Anderson are the latest to join the cast of Breck Eisner's remake of the 1973 George A. Romero horror flick "The Crazies."

The plot of the film focuses on what happens to people in a small Kansas town hit by a deadly virus that enters the local water supply after a plane crash.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Panabaker plays a receptionist at the town's medical center, while Anderson is on board as the town's deputy.

Also starring are Timothy Olyphant as the sheriff and possibly Radha Mitchell as his wife.

Ray Wright and Scott Kosar wrote the screenplay for Ouverture Films. Romero will serve as executive producer.

Panabaker is currently onscreen in the remake of "Friday the 13th." Anderson starred in "Across the Universe." He will also be seen in "Amelia" and "Traveling."

Danielle Panabaker is ‘Prodigy’

Big-screen newcomer Danielle Panabaker has signed on to join Chuck Russell’s upcoming action flick “Prodigy,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In the film, an elite school promises to turn teenagers into geniuses via an unconventional treatment. The school’s methods and program, however, comes into question when a rebellious student is linked to the sudden deaths of several alumni.

Panabaker is set to play the gifted daughter of a senator who starts to criticize the head of the school. Also on board in the role of the disobedient youngster is Max Theriot, whose credits include “Nancy Drew,” “Jumper” and the recent “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl.”

Russell is directing a script by Dave Kalstein, who adapted his own novel. The project is set to kick into production gear in October.

Panabaker kicked off her big-screen career in 2005’s “Sky High.” She also recently starred in “Yours, Mine and Ours” and “Mr. Brooks.” He next project is Marcus Nispel’s horror remake “Friday the 13th.”

New ‘Friday the 13th’ set pics surface!

Several new pictures from the set of Marcus Nispel’s upcoming horror remake “Friday the 13th” have popped up online at ShockTillYouDrop.com (via HorrorBid.com). You can check out one of them just above.

Most of these stills show the scary Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) unmasked. Also starring are Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Travis van Winkle and Aaron Yoo. The film is set to open everywhere Feb. 13, 2009.
