Watch the brand-new 'The Green Hornet' trailer

Columbia has released a new trailer for Michel Gondry's upcoming action adventure "The Green Hornet," and it's available for you to watch above. That said, it's not that much different from the previous version.

It features some new action footage though. I'm still not entirely convinced, but Gondry is a talented filmmaker and the cast isn't exactly boring either. If anything, the action moments sure look pretty cool.

The action film follows the adventures of Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), who inherits his dad's newspaper and fights crime as a masked hero at night. Jay Chou plays his sidekick Kato. Cameron Diaz co-stars.

Release is set for Jan. 14, 2011, and the film will also open in 3D. The good news: Christoph Waltz plays the villain. He may not be able to save the film, but his appearance is definitely a bunch of good news.

Good news: Christoph Waltz to star in 'Water'

Here's some good news for all Christoph Waltz fans (me included): the ruthless villain from "Inglourious Basterds" is apparently in talks to join Francis Lawrence's upcoming drama "Water for Elephants."

At least that's what Deadline Hollywood is reporting. Sean Penn was attached to the project, but no deal was made, and Waltz is now supposed to take over in the movie based on the book by Sara Gruen.

Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson star in the film about a veterinary student (Pattinson) who quits school after the death of his parents and joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Witherspoon is set to play the circus' equestrian star, who is married to an animal trainer, the role Waltz will be taking on. He's both an asshole to his wife and his animals. Sounds just like the role for Waltz.

Waltz, of course, is nominated for an Oscar for this role in "Basterds," and if he doesn't win it, I will never ever watch or speak or write about the Academy Awards every again. There you have it.

Also, since his "Basterds" role, Waltz has been in high demand. He will play another bad guy in Michel Gondry's upcoming "The Green Hornet." Isn't he just the most brilliant villain ever?

2009 Screening Log Movie Awards Winners!

Up in the Air wins three Screening Log Movie Awards

A week ago I posted the nominations for the 1st annual Screening Log Movie Awards, and here are the winners I picked for the year 2009. These are really the best of the best of the year.

The big winner for me is "Up in the Air," which received three awards, including best film, best screenplay and best supporting actress (Vera Farmiga). Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" won two prizes.

As you can see below, the best actor category ended in a tie. It's something I don't usually like to do, but Nicolas Cage and Jeff Bridges just equally surprised me this year. Enjoy all the winners below.
