Watch Christina Ricci in 'After.Life' trailer

Liam Neeson in After.Life

Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo's upcoming horror thriller "After.Life" just got a trailer, and you can check it out below. The film is now on track to open in theaters April 9, 2010 via Anchor Bay. Liam Neeson, Christina Ricci, Justin Long and Josh Charles star.

The flick centers on a young woman (Ricci) caught between life and death. A funeral director (Neeson) appears to have the gift of transitioning the dead, but may be intent on burying her alive. Only her boyfriend (Long), who is convinced she's not dead, can help her.

I'm not quite sure how to feel about "After.Life" at this stage. It's definitely not a mainstream release, but there are elements in this trailer I admit I enjoyed. The cast seems solid enough, and the film seems visually pleasing as well. The story? I'm not quite convinced yet.

Christina Ricci joins Sandler's 'Star' comedy

Christina Ricci has boarded "Born to Be a Star," a comedy Adam Sandler co-wrote and is set to produce with Jack Giarraputo. Tom Brady, who delivered the crappy "The Combacks," will direct.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the plot follows a nerd who discovers his quiet parents were famous porn stars during the 1970s.

Motivated by his parents' legacy, he decides to head to Hollywood and enter the porn industry himself, hoping to become the biggest adult-film star the world has ever seen. Ricci is set to play his girlfriend.

No word yet on whether Sandler will star in "Star," but you'll soon see him play a stand-up comedian in Judd Apatow's "Funny People."

As for Ricci, she last starred in "Speed Racer." She will also soon be seen in "New York, I Love You" and "After.Life."

Liam Neeson to explore ‘After.Life’

Actor Liam Neeson is joining Christina Ricci in Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo's upcoming thriller “After.Life,” the Hollywood Reporter announced earlier today.

The trade says the flick centers on a young woman (Ricci) caught between life and death. A funeral director (Neeson) appears to have the gift of transitioning the dead, but may be intent on burying her alive.

Sounds freaky.

Ricci recently joined the project and replaced Kate Bosworth, who was originally attached to play the lead.

Neeson was last heard as Asland in “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.” He’ll soon show up in Oliver Hirschbiegel’s “Five Minutes of Heaven.”

And before I forget, Neeson is also in talks to play Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” provided the project will actually happen.

Ricci, Benjamin in for ‘Faire in Love’

Christina Ricci, Owen Benjamin, Bill Engvall, Nadine Velazquez and Cedric the Entertainer are set to join Scott Marshall’s upcoming comedy “All’s Faire in Love,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Benjamin, who recently starred in “The House Bunny,” will play a drama school grad who becomes the fetch boy for his new Renaissance theater group. Things seem to improve when he meets a Faire virgin (Ricci), although his colleagues threaten to interrupt their romance.

Also on board are Ann-Margret, Louise Griffiths and Matthew Lillard. Marshall is directing a script by Robert A. White.

Originally, the film was titled “Ye Olde Times,” with Jack Black attached to star as a professor. Black’s role is now in the hands of Cedric the Entertainer.

Ricci recently starred in “Speed Racer.” She will next be seen in “New York, I Love You.” Engvall’s most recent big-screen appearance was “Delta Farce,” while Velazquez briefly showed up alongside Jason Statham in “War.”
