Chris Wedge to direct 'Monster Dogs'

Chris Wedge and WedgeWorks are bringing Kirsten Bakis' novel "Lives of the Monster Dogs" to the big screen. It will be a live-action adventure, and Wedge will write the screenplay with Adam Kline.
The book by Bakis follows genetically altered dogs who can walk up straight and communicate via voice boxes. They end up revolting against their Prussian masters and head to modern New York.
Wegde directed "Ice Age" and "Robots," and he founded Blue Sky Studios, which has been developing all the "Ice Age" movies. He's also the guy voicing Scrat in the flicks. (Source: Heat Vision Blog)
