Chris Hemsworth, the star of Marvel's "Thor," is quickly becoming one busy actor. Not only will he be back for "Thor 2," but he will also most likely star in "Rush," Peter Morgan's British Formula One flick about driver James Hunt and his clashes with Niki Lauda. Ron Howard is attached to direct, according to Deadline.

In other casting news, John Cusack will star in Lee Daniels' "The Paperboy." He joins Zac Efron, while Nicole Kidman and Matthew McConaughey in the indie drama focusing on a death row inmate convicted of killing a cop. Daniels also directed "Precious." Cusack soon stars in "The Raven." (Variety)

'Cabin in the Woods' gets an image

Chances are we will at one point be able to see Drew Goddard's horror film "The Cabin in the Woods," because the film is not dead yet. To prove it, Bloody-Disgusting posted the first image from the flick, which stars Chris Hemsworth and Bradley Whitford.

"Cabin in the Woods" was supposed to hit theaters a while ago, but MGM's recent financial trouble caused major delays. Not much is known about the plot, but it's described as "a twisted and unusual take on the familiar "cabin in the woods" formula."

Kristen Connolly, Richard Jenkins, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams and Brian White star. Looking at this still above, I keep wondering: what the hell are they all looking at? A dead monster of some sorts? A spider crawling around? A dent in the floor?

Don Payne to write 'Thor 2'

Marvel really wants to get "Thor 2" ready for shooting as soon as possible. Just one day after setting a July 26, 2013 release date for the sequel, the studio has hired Don Payne to write the script, according to Deadline.

Who's Payne? Apart from being one of the writers of the first "Thor," he also contributed to that terrible "Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer" script and wrote Ivan Reitman's mediocre "My Super Ex-Girlfriend."

Also worth pointing out that a look at his filmography reveals he has written for "The Simpsons." He also happens to be a producer on the TV show. Chris Hemsworth is set to return as "Thor" in the sequel. Kenneth Branagh will not return to direct.

'Thor 2' gets release date!

Marvel is pretty happy with the current $430+ million gross of "Thor," which is why the studio is already moving ahead with a sequel. "Thor 2" is currently set for release July 26, 2013, but the big surprise is that Kenneth Branagh will not return to direct.

According to Deadline though, this doesn't mean Branagh will not be involved. In fact, it seems like he could return in some producting role. Details are scarce though, but lead actor Chris Hemsworth will be back to reprise his role as Thor. That much we know.

Chris Hemsworth to star in 'Shadow Runner'

Chris Hemsworth, the star of Marvel's "Thor," is getting busier and busier. He's got "Red Dawn," "The Avengers" and "The Cabin in the Woods" coming soon, and according to Deadline, he's also in talks to star in "Shadow Runner," a pitch acquired by Sony.

It looks like Hossein Amini had a lot to do with the structure of the concept, which Sony is keeping under wraps. One thing is for sure though; "Runner" will be an action flick, a genre Hemsworth has proven he can handle. He will also star in "Snow White and the Huntsman."

'Snow White' release battle heats up!

It seems like a duel has broken out between Relativity Media and Universal over which studio will get their Snow White film out to the public first. Universal's "Snow White and the Huntsman" will star Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, and it was originally slated for a December 2012 release.

However, after Relativity Media's announcement of "The Brothers Grimm: Snow White" project, which is set to star Julia Roberts and Armie Hammer, the two studios have been pushing up their release dates in order to get their Snow White to the big screen first.
