Daily news dose: 'Dawn Treader' gets release date; Willis, Morgan join 'Cops' comedy

Here's your dose of film news for March 3, 2009:

• Now that "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is actually happening, 20th Century Fox and Walden Media have announced a release date for Dec. 10, 2010. This will put the film back into the holiday season. Michael Petroni will write the screenplay. (Variety)

• Max Thieriot has joined the cast of "Chloe," Atom Egoyan's remake of the French thriller "Nathalie..." The film follows a doctor (Julianne Moore) who hires an escort (Amanda Seyfried) to test her husband's (Liam Neeson) fidelity. Things start to heat up when her decision puts her family in danger. Thierot plays Moore's son. (THR)

• Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan are set to star in Kevin Smith's upcoming detective comedy "A Couple of Cops," about a team of cops looking for a stolen baseball card and dealing with a bunch of nasty gangsters. Robb and Marc Cullen wrote the screenplay, and Warner Bros. will develop and distribute. (Variety)

• Leonardo DiCaprio will star in Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi thriller "Inception." Nothing is known about the plot at this stage, but Nolan plans to shoot it this year. The film is set for release July 16, 2010. "Inception" is described as "a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind." (Variety)

Moore, Neeson to star in 'Chloe'

Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried have signed on to star in Atom Egoyan's upcoming thriller "Chloe."

According to Variety, the film follows a doctor (Moore) who hires an escort (Seyfried) to test her husband's (Neeson) fidelity. Things start to heat up when her decision puts her family in danger.

Egoyan, whose credits include "Where the Truth Lies" and "The Sweet Hereafter," is directing a script by Erin Cressida.

Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock, among others, are producing, with Jason Reitman on board as executive producer. Shooting is set for February, according to the trade.

Moore was last seen in "Blindness." She's recently completed "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee." Other upcoming project of hers include "A Single Man" and "Shelter."

As for Neeson, he will soon be seen in Oliver Hirschbiegel's "Five Minutes of Heaven." Seyfried most recently starred in last summer's box office phenomenon "Mamma Mia!"
