Cate Blanchett is a busy woman, and besides delivering some awesome performances on the big screen, the actress is also trying to develop a film version of Marisa Acocella Marchetto’s graphic memoir "Cancer Vixen: A True Story."
Blanchett recently talked to MTV and said she's currently looking for a competent director to successfully adapt the book. “It’s a tragic-comic look at it,” she said. “So it needs a really particular, special filmmaker. I hope that happens.”
"Cancer Vixen" describes what happens to a big-city cartoonist when she finds a lump in her breast. Blanchett called it a "really unique book."
Once the project is ready to hit production, Blanchett hopes she'll be able to secure the lead role.
Blanchett is currently onscreen in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." She's also part of the voice cast in Wes Anderson's upcoming animated flick "The Fantastic Mr. Fox."
