So-so motion poster for 'Pandorum' hits

In case you've missed it, motion posters are the new cool thing to promote films online. They're essentially flash vidoes or other similar files that feature a moving poster. While we've seen a couple of great ones of this kind recently, I've also come across some rather lame ones.

Take the new motion poster for "Pandorum." It's cool they put the effort into making one, but to be honest, this one's getting pretty annoying after, say, three seconds. You can check it out for yourself after the jump, and let me know what you think. I'm not impressed.

'True Blood' actor Moyer joins 'Priest'

Lots of "Priest" news lately, as the cast for Scott Stewart's horror adventure is still growing. The latest to join the upcoming Screen Gems project are Stephen Moyer from HBO's "True Blood" and Lily Collins, who appeared on a couple of episodes of the recent "90210" reboot.

Cory Goodman wrote the screenplay for the project, which follows a warrior priest (Paul Bettany) who turns his back on the church to free his kidnapped niece from the hands of some ruthless vampires. Karl Urban will play the head villain, and Maggie Q is on board as a priestess vampire hunter.

Karl Urban is the bad guy in 'Priest'

Casting for Scott Stewart's upcoming "Priest" is still in progress, and the latest to join the big-screen adaptation of TokyoPop's comic book of the same title is Karl Urban. He will play the movie's main villain.

Cory Goodman wrote the screenplay for the project, which follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who turns his back on the church to free his kidnapped niece from the hands of some ruthless vampires.

The Hollywood Reporter says Urban is set to play Black Hat, leader of the vampires who used to be a priest but now prefers to be considered a god of vampires.

Maggie Q joins cast of 'Priest'

Paul Bettany and Cam Gigandet are in for some company, as Maggie Q has officially joined Scott Stewart's upcoming "Priest," based on TokyoPop's comic book of the same title.

Cory Goodman wrote the screenplay for the project, which follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who turns his back on the church to free his kidnapped niece from the hands of some ruthless vampires.

The Hollywood Reporter says Q will play a priestess vampire hunter. Gigandet plays a sheriff who is part vampire and teams up with the priest to save the girl.

Q's recent credits include "Mission: Impossible III" and "Live Free or Die Hard." "New York, I Love You" and "Rogue's Gallery" are two of her upcoming projects. Finally we get some girl power in this horror western. About time.

Cam Gigandet teams with Paul Bettany for 'Priest'

Cam Gigandet, who played James in "Twilight," is set to join Paul Bettany in Scott Stewart's upcoming "Priest," based on TokyoPop's comic book of the same title.

Cory Goodman wrote the screenplay for the project, which follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who turns his back on the church to free his kidnapped niece from the hands of some ruthless vampires.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gigandet plays a sheriff who is part vampire and teams up with the priest to save the girl.

Gigandet, whose credits also include "Never Back Down," received a career boost thanks to his "Twilight" role. The actor has a bunch of projects in the works, including "The Roommate" and "Easy A."

As fof Bettany, he recently starred in the disappointing "Inkheart" and "The Secret Life of Bees." Anyone of you guys ever read the comic? Let me know what you think about it!

Casting bites: Lisa Kudrow, Stanley Tucci board 'Easy A;' Chris Pine set for 'Unstoppable'

Here's your dose of casting updates for June 4, 2009:

• Lisa Kudrow, Alyson Machalka, Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson, Stanley Tucci, Penn Badgley, Cam Gigandet, Malcolm McDowell and Daniel Byrd will join Emma Stone and Amanda Bynes in Will Gluck's comedy "Easy A," a modern reimagining of "The Scarlet Letter." Written by playwright Bert V. Royal, the film centers on a high school student who seeks financial and personal gain by pretending to be the school slut. (Variety)

• Chris Pine, who's currently onscreen in "Star Trek," is in talks to join Denzel Washington in Tony Scott for Fox's upcoming thriller "Unstoppable." The plot follows an engineer who boards a locomotive with a young conductor (Pine) and attempts to chase a runaway train loaded with a bunch of toxic chemicals. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Gigandet, Malone gear up for 'Five Star Day'

"Twilight" actor Cam Gigandet and Jena Malone have signed on to star in Danny Buday's indie drama "Five Star Day."

Variety reports Gigandet stars as a young man who embarks on a journey of self-discovery after he loses everything he has and decides it's time to find out what's most important in his life.

Malone is on board playing his girlfriend, while Will Yun Lee stars as Gigandet's reasonable friend.

Gigandet most recently starred in "Never Back Down." He will next be seen as James in "Twilight," which opens this weekend. The actor will also appear in David S. Goyer's "The Unborn" and Christian Alvart's "Pandorum."

As for Jena Malone, whose known for her roles in "Donnie Darko" and "Saved!," she recently starred in "Into the Wild" and "The Ruins." Lee's credits include "Die Another Day" and "Bionic Woman."

Cast lines up for ‘Kerosene Cowboys’

Shane West, Cam Gigandet and Rachael Leigh Cook are in talks to join Mario Van Peebles’s upcoming action flick “Kerosene Cowboys,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on a novel by Randy Arrington, the film centers on the dangerous mission carried out by an elite Navy squadron. Gigandet plays a pilot, West stars as his enemy, and Leigh slips into the role of a journalist.

Van Peebles, whose credits include “Baadasssss!,” is directing a script by Adam Prince. Filming for “Cowboys” is expected to begin this October.

Gigandet most recently starred in “Never Back Down.” He will next be seen in Catherine Hardwicke’s anticipated vampire romance “Twilight.”

West, who is known for his role as Dr. Ray Barnett on television’s “ER,” last appeared in “What We Do Is Secret.” He recently completed “The Lodger,” in which he also stars alongside Cook.
