Cool new poster for 'Battle: Los Angeles'

Jonathan Liebesman's upcoming action sci-fi blockbuster is one of a few major flicks I'm looking forward to this year, and the folks at IGN just posted a pretty awesome new poster for the alien invasion movie, which opens in theaters March 11, 2011 and stars Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez, among others.

You can admire the one-sheet below. The plot centers on a Marine platoon’s battle against alien invaders in Los Angeles. Bridget Moynahan and Michael Peña co-star, and everything I've seen so far of this looks pretty cool. That said, "Battle: L.A." will have a tough job trying to prove it's got what it takes to match "District 9."

Michelle Rodriguez, two more heading into 'Battle'

Michelle Rodriguez

Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena and Bridget Moynahan have signed on to star alongside Aaron Eckhart in Columbia's upcoming sci-fi action flick "Battle: Los Angeles."

Written by Chris Bertolini and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (“Darkness Falls” and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning"), the plot centers on a Marine platoon’s battle against alien invaders in Los Angeles.

The Hollywood Reporter says Rodriguez will play Crpl. Adriana Santos, while Moynahan portrays a veterinarian. Pena will play the father of a boy the soldiers find along the way.

Rodriguez recently appeared in "Fast & Furious." Pena last starred in "Observe & Report." Moynahan's credits include "Lord of War" and "The Recruit."

Goodwin, Corbett join 'Ramona' cast

Ginnifer Goodwin, John Corbett and Bridget Moynahan are set to star in Fox 2000's upcoming "Ramona and Beezus."

The project is based on Beverly Cleary's children's book series, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, Goodwin is on board to play Aunt Bea, the favorite person in 10-year-old Ramona's world.

Moynahan and Corbett are playing Dorothy and Bob Quimby, the girl's parents.

Elizabeth Allen, whose credits include "Aquamarine," will direct a screenplay by Laurie Craig. "Ramona" is set to shoot next month.

The charming Goodwin is currently onscreen in "He's Just Not That Into You" (okay, she's a little annoying in that film). She also starred in "Walk the Line."

Corbett's credits include "Serendipity" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." He's playing Max on "United States of Tara."

As for Moynahan, she appeared in "I, Robot" and "Lord of War."
