Mary-Louise Parker is 'Solitary'

“Weeds” star Mary-Louise Parker has signed on to star alongside Michael Douglas in Brian Koppelman and David Levien’s “Solitary Man.”

Written by Koppelman, the follows a former owner (Douglas) of a car dealership chain whose career and marriage were destroyed by his business and romantic indiscretions.

According to Variety, Parker is playing a high-powered society sweetheart of Douglas' character.

Susan Sarandon, Danny DeVito and Jenna Fischer co-star in the project, which heads into production later this year.

Parker, whose credits include “Angels in America” and “The West Wing,” also recently starred in “The Spiderwick Chronicles.”

Final word: I adore “Weeds” and love Mary-Louise Parker. Enough said!

Michael Douglas to become 'Solitary Man'

Michael Douglas is set to topline Millennium Films' "Solitary Man," a film directed by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, according to Variety.

The trade says Douglas plays a former owner of a car dealership chain whose career and marriage were destroyed by his business and romantic indiscretions.

Susan Sarandon, Danny DeVito and Jenna Fischer are in negotiations to co-star in the project, which heads into production later this year.

Koppelman and Levien previously wrote and directed "Knockaround Guys." They also wrote the screenplays for "Runaway Jury" and Steven Soderbergh's "Ocean's Thirteen." Interestingly, Soderbergh will produce "Solitary."

Douglas was last seen in the indie comedy "King of California." His future projects include Mark Waters' "The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" and Soderbergh's upcoming Liberace film.

Good to have you back Michael.
