'Prince of Persia' gets action-packed trailer

Prince of Persia trailer

"Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" finally received its first feature trailer, and at this stage, I like what I'm seeing. It definitely doesn't look perfect, but it sure is action-packed. See below for more.

In the film, Prince Dastan (Gyllenhaal) teams up with a princess (Arterton) to stop a villain from laying his hands on the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can be used to reverse time and rule the world.

Also starring are Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell and Dave Pope. Mike Newell, whose credits include "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral," is directing.

A new trailer for Martin Scorsese's upcoming mystery thriller "Shutter Island" has officially hit the Web, and it's just as good as its predecessor. It's similar, but it also features a bit of new footage. Check it out below.

In the film, two marshals are sent to a remote, barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island’s fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.

The folks at Entertainment Weekly just posted a new official still from Mike Newell's upcoming big-screen adventure "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," due in theaters May 28, 2010.

The flick follows Prince Dastan (Gyllenhaal) as he teams up with a princess (Gemma Arterton) to stop a ruthless leader from laying his hands on the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can be used to reverse time and rule the world.

Also starring in the film are Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell and Dave Pope. EW says this is the first official pic of Gyllenhaal in character, and while it may be official and all, these photos from months ago seem to show him in character as well.

'Shutter Island' trailer delivers the goods!

Trailer for Shutter Island is now online

The first trailer for Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island" has just exploded onto the Web, and you should definitely check it out below. It totally delivers the goods.

The film tells the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island’s fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.

"Shutter Island" is based on the novel by Dennis Lehane and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkson, Max von Sydow and Jackie Earle Haley.

As you can see below, the film promises to be an intense psychological thriller with a bunch of twists and, judging solely by this preview, vibrant performances. I for one can't wait, and the film will open Oct. 2, 2009.

Take a look at Gyllenhaal as the ‘Prince of Persia’

The folks over at Just Jared got a hold of some pictures taken of Jake Gyllenhaal on the Moroccan set of Mike Newell’s upcoming video game adaptation “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.” You can see part of one shot just above, and the rest of them right here!

The plot of “Persia” follows Prince Dastan (Gyllenhaal) as he teams up with a princess (Gemma Arterton) to stop a ruthless leader from laying his hands on the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can be used to reverse time and rule the world. Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina co-star.

I’ve never actually played the game and don’t know much else about the plot or characters, but considering the screenshots and trailers I've seen from the game, Gyllenhaal seems like a good choice to portray the hero of this adventure. “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” is scheduled to open May 28, 2010.
