New 'Thor' trailer looks pretty epic

New Thor trailer is here and it is awesome

The brand-new trailer for Kenneth Branagh's upcoming action adventure "Thor" has debuted online, and I highly suggest you check it out after the jump. It's quite the beauty, boasting some sick action-packed moments rich in special effects and mayhem. And yes, you'll giggle once or twice as well.

"Thor" opens in 3D May 6, 2011, and the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings and Ray Stevenson. This new trailer promises a fun ride, that's for sure. For more "Thor" info, head over to the official page at http://thor.marvel.com/.

The trailer for 'The Rite' with Anthony Hopkins

Anthony Hopkins in The Rite

Anthony Hopkins stars in Mikael Hafstrom's upcoming supernatural thriller "The Rite," which hits theaters Jan. 28, 2011. The first trailer for the film has debuted online, and you can check it out after the jump.

Film follows seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O'Donoghue), who attends exorcism school at the Vatican. While in Rome, Father Lucas (Hopkins) introduces him to the darker side of his faith.

Yeah, looks like another one of those devil films, and to tell you the truth, I'm not exactly into that stuff. That said, I'm more than willing to give it a fair chance, provided it can deliver solid scares. We shall see...

By the way, Michael Petroni ("Queen of the Damned," "Possession") penned the script. Hafstrom also helmed the so-so "1408" and disastrous thriller "Derailed." Man, that really was a bad film, wasn't it?

We've seen a bunch of photos from "Thor" showing up online lately, and here are two more stills from the adventure directed by Kenneth Branagh. The film will open in 3D and 2D May 6, 2011.

The second photo below was put online by USA Today. Look out for more of these goodies as San Diego Comic Con gets underway this weekend. So far, I have to say I've been quite intrigued by "Thor."

Anthony Hopkins to play bad guy in 'Arabian Nights'

The great Anthony Hopkins is gearing up for another role as a villain. This time around, he's in talks to board Chuck Russell's 3D action flick "Arabian Nights," which already stars Liam Hemsworth ("The Last Song"). Russell and Barry P. Ambrose wrote the script for the adventure, which shoots later this year.

The story follows Hemsworth in the role of a commander who teams up with Sinbad, Ali Baba and the magic lamp's Genie to protect queen Scheherazade from evil. Heat Vision reports Hopkins would play Pharotu, a ruthless magic man who murdered Sinbad's love. Hopkins will soon be seen in "Thor."

Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Anthony Hopkins practices 'The Rite'

Anthony Hopkins has boarded "The Rite," a supernatural thriller to be directed by Mikael Hafstrom, the guy who directed "1408" and that terrible sucky thriller "Derailed." "Rite" is based on the book by Matt Baglio, and Michael Petroni penned the script.

Heat Vision says the plot follows a seminary student who studies exorcism at the Vatican and ends up finding his faith after clashing with demons. Hopkins will play an exorcist with some crazy methods to get his job done. In other words, he's up for another crazy role.

Movie Review: “The Wolfman”

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Seen on: February 9, 2010

The players: Director: Joe Johnston, Writers: David Self, Andrew Kevin Walker, Cast: Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, Anthony Hopkins

Facts of interest: Joe Johnston also helmed "Jumanji."

The plot: A nobleman returns to his home estate, where he is bitten by a werewolf and consequently turns into a beast himself.

Our thoughts: Joe Johnston’s “The Wolfman” has a lot of great things going for it, but what it lacks is a decent story. Man, that script it one big mess that feels like it’s been torn apart by one angry werewolf. Luckily, Universal’s reboot of “Wolfman” boasts stunning visuals and an overall surprisingly solid cast that keeps this one from crashing completely.

Cool new poster for 'The Wolfman' debuts on web

Another new poster for Joe Johnston's upcoming werewolf movie "The Wolfman" has found its way to the Web, and you can check it out after the jump. Just like its predecessors, it looks pretty awesome.

Benicio del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a carefree Londoner lured back to his family estate after the disappearance of his brother. That's when he discovers an even more horrifying destiny for himself.

Emily Blunt and Anthony Hopkins co-star, and I'm loving this cast already. Sadly, we'll have to wait until Feb. 12, 2010 to see "The Wolfman." It was set for a release Nov. 6, 2009, but Universal pushed it back.
