Angelina Jolie

Ridley Scott is chatting up Angelina Jolie to star in "Gucci," Fox 2000's upcoming murder drama about the Gucci fashion dynasty. Plans are to get the film rolling into production as early as next year.

Variety reports Jolie is in talks to play Patrizia Reggiano, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison for plotting the murder of ex-husband Maurizio Gucci. He was shot to death in front of his apartment in 1995.

The script is not locked yet, and Fox 2000 is looking for a new screenwriter to rewrite the film. Scott is also looking for an actor for the Gucci role, and the trade says he approached Leonardo DiCaprio.

Bekmambetov to bring back Jolie for 'Wanted 2'

Angwlina Jolie in Wanted

The chance of Angelina Jolie's character Fox returning in "Wanted 2" is getting more and more likely. At the recent Comic-Con, "Wanted" director Timur Bekmambetov said he may have an idea how to bring back Jolie for the sequel, but at that stage, it all sounded more like a rumor than a fixed plan.

If you haven't seen "Wanted" but plan to watch it in the near future, I would advise you to stop reading, as a spoiler will follow. When talking to MTV recently, Bekmambetov said he now knows how he could bring Fox back from the dead. As you may remember, she took a bullet at the end of the first flick.

Will Angelina Jolie really return in 'Wanted 2'?

At this point, that is the big question: Will Angelina Jolie return in the upcoming "Wanted 2" sequel? Considering her presence in the first film certainly helped attract audiences, there may be a chance of her reprising her character.

But how? Well, according to Timur Bekmambetov, director of "Wanted," James McAvoy, who plays the lead character, could try to "wake up" Fox, Jolie's character.

I would categorize this as a rumor of some sort at this stage, but at Comic-Con, Bekmambetov briefly said Fox would be lying in one of those wax baths. You know, those that can heal wounds and stuff.

Angelina Jolie to play Dr. Kay Scarpetta in adaptation

Angelina Jolie will play a medical examiner.

Angelina Jolie is a busy mother these days, but she's still acting, yes. According to Variety, Jolie is teaming with Fox 2000 for a big-screen adaptation of Patricia Cornwell's popular book series on medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta. No writer or director is attached to the untitled project at this stage, but Jolie and the producers are apparently meeting with writers already.

As of now, Cornwell has written 16 Scarpetta novels, and if this project turns out successfull enough (with Jolie on board, it probably will), we may indeed see the birth of a big franchise. Jolie, who was last seen in "Wanted," is currently filming "Salt" for Phillip Noyce.

Will Angelina Jolie show up in 'Sin City 2'?

Angelina Jolie may join Sin City 2

At this stage, I'm not sure we'll even ever get to see Robert Rodriguez's "Sin City 2." I mean, I've been reading all kinds of things about the project over the past months, but I somehow have the feeling it's just not moving along. Or is it? Accoring to Moviehole, things are apparently starting to shape up, with Angelina Jolie attached to join the sequel.

Seriously? Well, right now, it's more like a rumor. One of Moviehole's sources said Jolie would play Ava, lead character in Frank Miller's "A Dame to Kill For" and former flame of Dwight McCarthy, the character Clive Owen played in the first "Sin City." Whatever happens, I wouldn't mind seeing Jolie in this sequel at all. The busy mom is currently filming "Salt" for Phillip Noyce.

Not much is known about the plot at this stage, except that the film follows the adventures of the kung fu panda who carries out an ancient prophecy. Jennifer Yuh Nelson is set to direct.
