Watch this new, funny clip from 'Rango'

In terms of upcoming animated flicks, Gore Verbinski's "Rango" is definitely the one I'm looking forward to most. I love the look of the characters and the film's gorgeous animation, and to be honest, I'm even already sold on the storyline. Long story short, it looks like a ton of fun, and here is a new clip to prove it.

"Rango" is a family western that follows a depressed chameleon (voiced by Depp) trying to survive in the ruthless desert. Johnny Depp voices the lizard, and he's backed by Isla Fisher, Bill Nighy, Timothy Olyphant, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina and Ray Winstone. The movie opens March 4, 2011. Bring it on.

New red band 'Zombieland' trailer delivers!

Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson in Zombieland

Here's a brand-new red band trailer for Ruben Fleischer's upcoming action comedy "Zombieland," and to be honest, it's just ridiculously hilarious. Yeah, it looks bloody great.

In the film, a group of survivors team up to fight the zombies after a nasty plague ravages through America. Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Amber Heard and Abigail Breslin star.

While the previous trailer offered a sneak peek at the film's sense of humor, this one offers viewers a bunch of bloody moments; wildly funny ones at that.

I know we've seen so many zombie-related films during the past years, but just judging by this footage, "Zombieland" still looks like a refreshing vehicle driven by solid performances and plenty of silly, entertaining big-screen fun.

Movie Review: “My Sister’s Keeper”

Seen on: June 27, 2009

The players: Director: Nick Cassavetes, Writer: Jeremy Leven, Cast: Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin, Alec Baldwin, Jason Patric, Joan Cusack

Facts of interest: Nick Cassavetes also directed "Alpha Dog" and "The Notebook."

The plot: After their daughter is diagnosed with leukemia, a married couple decides to genetically conceive a donor child.

Our thoughts: Nick Cassavetes’ “My Sister’s Keeper” could have been a compelling drama, but instead, it’s nothing but a simplistic tearjerker desperately trying to get audiences to shed tear after tear. The film raises several interesting issues, but sadly enough, it fails to examine them in greater detail because it’s just too busy rolling in schmaltz.

'My Sister's Keeper' web reviews

Cameron Diaz, Jason Patric, Alec Baldwin, Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vassilieva star in Nick Cassavetes' latest drama "My Sister's Keeper," based on the popular novel by Jodi Picoult. Here's what some of the Web's critics have to say about the flick:

CinemaBlend's Katey Rich: "It feels unbelievably cynical to start giggling during a movie about a girl with cancer, but My Sister's Keeper is just as cynical, calibrating its every move to get us to cry so hard we recommend the movie to our friends."

• Peter Martin at Cinematical: "It's a disappointing step back for Cassavetes after the vim and vitality that infused his most recent effort, 'Alpha Dog.'"

• Kevin Carr at FilmSchoolRejects: "However, the emotional jabs just seemed a bit too calculated and deliberate to fool me."

• Brian Orndorf at BrianOrndorf.com: "It’s a tear-jerking Terminator, an unstoppable force that beats the screen with tragedies of all shapes and sizes, looking to wear down the viewer until they’re a puddle of tears and snotty tissue."

Funny 'Zombieland' trailer invades web

Are you ready for the next zombie comedy? Ruben Fleischer's upcoming action adventure "Zombieland" will invade theaters Oct. 9. 2009, and a first trailer for the film has debuted on the Web. Check it out after the jump.

In the film, a group of survivors team up to fight the zombies after a nasty plague ravages through America. Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Amber Heard and Abigail Breslin star.

Even though I'm sure we'll never see a zombie comedy more hilarious than "Shaun of the Dead," "Zombieland" looks rather amusing to say the least.

I'm particularly looking forward to these characters and performances. Harrelson is someone who I'm sure will be fun to watch kicking zombie butt, and Eisenberg is someone with huge talent as well. Stone and Head are hot, and Breslin usually does fine work as well.

Sounds like a winner right? Well, we'll see when "Zombieland" opens this fall.
