'Kick-Ass' teaser trailer arrives, delivers!

The first teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn's upcoming superhero action comedy "Kick-Ass" has hit the Web, and although it doesn't show us too much, it sure gets me even more excited about the film.

The film follows a boring high school student (played by Aaron Johnson) who attempts to become a real-life superhero named Kick-Ass but runs into several troubles because of his poor physique.

The whole thing is based on the comics by Mark Millar, and this first teaser delivers some decent laughs. Okay, it takes a while until it really introduces its story, but it sure made me curious enough.

New 'Kick-Ass' images surface online

Do you already have the "Kick-Ass" fever? Newsarama recently posted two brand-new images from the set of Matthew Vaughn's comic book adaptation, which is currently shooting.

Created by Mark Millar, "Kick-Ass" tells the violent story of a boring high school student (played by Aaton Johnson) who attempts to become a real-life superhero named Kick-Ass but runs into several troubles because of his poor physique.

Also on board of this big-screen version are Nicholas Cage, Lyndsy Fonseca, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Most of the major studios refused to develop the project because of the comic’s excessive violence, which is why Vaughn raised the budget for the flick himself. Vaughn previously directed “Layer Cake” and “Stardust.”

Nicholas Cage gears up to ‘Kick-Ass’

Nicholas Cage is the latest to join the cast of “Kick-Ass,” Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming adaptation of Mark Millar’s violent comic book, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Aaron Johnson and Lyndsy Fonseca also boarded the project.

The story centers on a boring high school student (Johnson) who attempts to become a real-life superhero named Kick-Ass but runs into several troubles because of his poor physique. Cage stars as an ex-cop who struggles to bring down a local druglord.

Also on board is “Superbad” star Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who plays the aggressive son of a mobster who tries to uncover Kick-Ass’ identity.

Most of the major studios refused to develop the project because of the comic’s excessive violence, which is why Vaughn raised the budget for the flick himself.

Vaughn previously directed “Layer Cake” and “Stardust.” Cage most recently starred in “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.” He will next be seen in Oxide and Danny Pang’s action thriller “Bangkok Dangerous.”
