Laurence Fishburne joins 'Man of Steel'

Here's some interesting news: Laurence Fishburne has boarded Zack Snyder's new and anticipated Superman flick "Man of Steel," and as it so happens, he will be playing Perry White, editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet. How cool is that?

Fishburne has a couple of shitty films under his belt, but I can definitely picture him boss around Clark Kent and trying to keep things in check at his newspaper. Henry Cavill is the man of steel, and Amy Adams will play Lois Lane.

Fans will have to wait until June 14, 2013 to admire the flying superhero, but what I'm more concerned about is whether audiences will actually buy back into the Superman fever this time. We all know how things turned out for the most recent reboot.

Nonetheless, I guess I'm one of only a few who enjoyed Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns." Zack Snyder's certainly got what it takes to create a visually stunning film, but I wonder how the screenwriters wwill breathe new life into this thing.

As for Fishburne, his credits include "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Contagion," "Predators," "Armored" and a ton of other flicks. He's been around for a while... (Source: EW)
