Spike Lee to direct 'Old Boy' remake

It's been a while since we last heard anything about the "Old Boy" remake Steven Spielberg and Will Smith were supposed to be involved with, but word is the project is back on track with Spike Lee possibly in talks to direct the film. Pretty cool, huh?

Twitch says Lee is indeed considering the Hollywood version of the fantastic Park Chan-Wook movie, about a man who after being imprisoned for years, hunts down those responsible for locking him up in the first place. Mark Protosevich is writing the script.

No word yet on whether Will Smith will be involved with the remake. Although I would have loved to see Spielberg taking the lead on this one, I admit Spike Lee would indeed a very intriguing choice. Lee recently helmed "Miracle at St. Anna."
