First photo from 'The Darkest Hour'

Chances are you have not heard that much yet about "The Darkest Hour," but the film in question is a 3D thriller Summit Entertainment will release Dec. 23, 2011. A first image has hit the Web, and you can see it above. Right, that's Emile Hirsch!

The dude who went on a long journey in "Into the Wild" returns as one of five people stranded in Moscow, trying to survive an alien attack. Yep, it's one of those films again... "Darkest Hour" is directed by Chris Gorak, who also helmed "Right at Your Door."

Interesting fact: Timur Bekmambetov is listed as a producer on the film. "The Darkest Hour" also stars Olivia Thirlby, Rachael Taylor and Max Minghella. Not much going on in this still, but I hope we get a teaser soon. Time to build some expectations for this... (via CS)
