'Green Lantern 2' still happening?

Martin Campbell's "Green Lantern" cost a lot of money ($200 million, and that apparently does not include marketing costs), but the sci-fi film starring Ryan Reyndols is not exactly tearing up the domestic box office. The film has grossed only $89.3 million so far.

That said, it looks like Warner Bros. is convinced it's time to move forward with a sequel. The studio seems to believe in this franchise a lot, even though studio execs. are not entirely satisfied with the film's performance. After all, it took a huge dive at the box office this weekend.

THR says Warner is planning "Green Lantern 2," and although this project is at the earliest stage, time will tell whether the man in the green suit will fly again. One thing is for sure: "Green Lantern" will have the hardest time making $200 domestically (it probably never will).
