New trailer for 'Real Steel' boasts robot action

Ever wondered what boxing might look like in the future? According to Shawn Levy's new action flick "Real Steel," robots will dominate the sport. The new and full trailer for the upcoming flick with Hugh Jackman debuted on Yahoo! today, and you can watch it via the embed after the jump. If you ask me, the whole thing just looks and feels a little odd.
Maybe I just can't get used to the silly idea behind this thing. Jackman plays a trainer who finds an old rusty robot and ends up training him at the request of his kid. The robot is a fast learner, and before you know it, they're on the road competing big time. And of course, drama is right around the corner as well. Dakota Goyo and Evangeline Lilly co-star.
"Real Steel" drops Oct. 7, 2011, so you have plenty of time to decide if you want to see this. The special effects sure do look decent enough in this trailer, but everything else just looks like a big mix of stuff we've already seen too many times. Levy, by the way, also helmed "Date Night" and the "Night at the Museum" flicks.
