New, very red poster for 'John Carter'

After the recent release of new stills from Disney's upcoming adventure "John Carter," it's time for a new poster for the Andrew Stanton-directed movie. It arrives courtesy of iTunes Trailers, and you can take a look at it after the jump. Simple, but interesting, and very, very red.
In the film, Taylor Kitsch ("Friday Night Lights") plays a Civil War vet transplanted to Mars who discovers a lush planet inhabited by 12-foot tall barbarians. Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter a princess who is in desperate need of a savior.
"John Carter" opens in theaters March 9, 2012. The film is based on the novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs and co-stars Bryan Cranston, Mark Strong, Dominic West, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton and Polly Walker. Quite the cast...
