Ben Affleck to direct 'Gangster Squad'?

Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck's success with "The Town" seems to be paying off. The film is doing well at the box office, and critics like it too. Warner Bros. is happy too, offering the filmmaker "Tales from the Gangster Squad."

Vulture says the studio is looking for Affleck to direct the film, which focuses on the LAPD's gang of mercenary cops who were after gangster Micky Cohen in the 1940s. Will Beall wrote the screenplay.

I'm sure Affleck has a bunch of offers on the table right now, so it's not sure what he will do next. This does at least sound like a cool project, and I hope he sticks with directing for a while now. "The Town" rocks!
