Box Office: 'Wall Street' sequel banks $19M

Gordon Gekko is back in action, and Oliver Stone's "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" jumped to No. 1 at the American box office with $19 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday.
In what is a solid debut, "Money Never Sleeps" scored an average of $5,330 per theater at 3,565 locations. In the film, Michael Douglas' Gekko clashes with a young trader played by Shia LaBeouf.
Coming in at No. 2 this weekend was Zack Snyder's 3D-animated owl adventure "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole," which earned a decent $16.3 million from ticket sales at 3,575 sites.
Meanwhile, this week's third new entry "You Again" debuted in fifth place only, bagging $8.3 million. The comedy by Andy Fickman stars Odette Yustman, Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Last weekend's winner "The Town" slipped to No. 3, picking up another solid $16 million for a cumulative gross of $49.1 million. "Easy A" followed at No. 4 with $10.7 million for a total haul of $32.8 million.
At No. 6, "Devil" picked up another $6.4 million, lifting its cume to $21.7 million. Following at No. 7 was "Resident Evil: Afterlife," which bagged $4.9 million for a total gross of $52 million.
After a disappointing first week, "Alpha and Omega" dropped to eighth place this weekend, bringing in $4.7 million for a cume of $15.1 million. "Takers" followed at No. 9 with a three-day gross of $1.6 million.
Rounding out the top 10 was Christopher Nolan's "Inception," which pulled $1.2 million and reached a domestic total of $287 million after a strong 11 weeks in release. Not too shabby at all!
