Trailer for Tyler Perry's 'For Colored Girls'

The feature trailer for Tyler Perry's upcoming drama "For Colored Girls" has landed online, and you can watch it below. This definitely looks better and more serious than his annoyingly traditional recent flicks.

The film is based on Ntozake Shange's 1975 play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf." The film version focuses on what happens to several nameless black women.

The cast is quite impressives, including Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Anika Noni Rose, Kerry Washington, Janet Jackson, Loretta Devine, Macy Gray, Tessa Thompson and Rayna Tharani.

Lionsgate will release the film Nov. 5, 2010. But yeah, it looks good so far. And yes, releasing the film around this time of year means it's up for awards consideration. Let's see what Perry has in store for us.
