Maggie Gyllenhaal set for 'Vibrator' comedy

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Dancy are set to star in Tanya Wexler's upcoming indie comedy "Hysteria," which focuses on the invention of the vibrator in Victorian-era England. Rupert Everett co-stars.

Stephen Dyer and Jonah Lisa Dyer wrote the script, which follows two London doctors (Dancy & Jonathan Pryce) treating hysteria among women. One of them starts experimenting with a new special device.

Variety says Gyllenhaal plays Pryce's daughter. Everett plays Dancy's best friend. The film will shoot in England and Luxembourg. Gyllenhaal ("Crazy Heart"), is currently on-screen in "Nanny McPhee Returns."
