Netflix This: 'Bass Ackwards'

You have to admit: the whole Netflix thing is pretty awesome, and because it is, I figured it deserves a new little feature I call "Netflix This." Essentially, it's a suggestion for a flick or TV show you should definitely check out on Netflix if you have the time. We all know there are some great selections on there.
So, my first Netflix pick is a charming indie flick titled "Bass Ackwards." You may have heard some stuff about it earlier this year when Sundance was in the news. It's a comedy-drama written and directed by Linas Phillips, who also portrays the main character, and it's undoubtedly a great low-budget movie.
The story is fairly simple as well, as it follows a dude hitting the road cross-country on a journey of - you could say - self-discovery. It's a road movie, yes, but it's unlike any road movie you've seen latetly. As a learning filmmaker myself, I was very inspired by Phillips' work, and I hope you will be as well.
The film runs 103 minutes and is streaming now on Netflix, so add it to your DVD queue or watch it right now. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. For my more detailed DVD review of "Bass Ackwards," head over to DVDVerdict to read more.
