First 'The A-Team' reviews debut online
I'm not allowed to post my review of Joe Carnahan's "The A-Team" until tomorrow afternoon, so I will be a nice guy and follow the rules. What I can tell you though is that I really enjoyed it. It's a fun action piece.
The first reviews are now hitting the Web, and before you know it, there will be more of them than we can handle. Here is what some folks who have posted their review online have to say about "The A-Team."
Bryan Buss in Moving Pictures: "There are jaw-dropping stunts, furiously fast editing, a federal agent and Cooper, who is in stunning shape and runs around showing it off for a fair portion of the film."
Brian Lowry from Variety: "... Best enjoyed (a la the "Mission: Impossible" franchise) by simply admiring the explosions and silliness without dwelling too much on the skeletal plot."
The Hollywood Reporter's Kirk Honeycutt: "More like the D-minus Team, but Joe Carnahan fans won't mind. The film seems nearly writer-free. Absolutely no time gets wasted on story, character development or logic."
Steve Persall from the St. Petersburg Times: "Smart casting pushes the characters beyond mere nostalgia but not to the point that we don't recognize the actors they're channeling."
HitFix's Drew McWeeny: "The action set pieces in the film are an affront to the laws of physics. The story is an aimless mess of cliche. It's also heaps of fun."
