Dang! 'Iron Man 2' scores $100M overseas!

Jon Favreau's "Iron Man 2" is off to a great start at the international box office, as the anticipated sequel managed to score a five-day gross of $100.2 million in ticket sales in 53 territories. On average, the film bagged $14,814 per theater, and that's a pretty solid result. The film opens in the U.S. this Friday.
Finishing second this weekend overseas was Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," which collected another $22.5 million for a total foreign gross of $591 million. Following in third place was "Clash of the Titans," which picked up $18.4 million for a cumulative gross of $273.8 million.
Meanwhile, DreamWorks Animation's "How to Train Your Dragon" landed at No. 5 this weekend with earnings of $6.7 million. Internationally, the 3D-animated adventure has grossed $203 million. Still going strong also was France's "Camping 2," which grabbed $6.2 million for a $16.8 million total.
Some other results from overseas: "Date Night" took $4 million, "The Last Song" snatched $3.4 million, and "The Bounty Hunter" pulled $2.4 million. Looks like "Iron Man 2" will rule the international circuit for a while in the near future, and I can't wait to see this thing. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
