Watch Emma Stone in 'Easy A' trailer

The first trailer for Will Gluck's upcoming comedy "Easy A" is now online, and you can check it out after the jump. Scripted by Bert V. Royal, the film stars Emma Stone, Cam Gigandet, Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson, Thomas Haden Church, Alyson Michalka and Amanda Bynes. Release is Sept. 17, 2010.

The synopsis of the film: After a little white lie about losing her virginity gets out, a clean cut high school girl (Stone) sees her life paralleling Hester Prynne's in "The Scarlet Letter," which she is currently studying in school – until she decides to use the rumor mill to advance her social and financial standing.

Can't say the trailer blew me away, but I am a fan of Stone's work, and she's definitely capable of delivering an energetic performance in a leading role. Gluck's previous film "Fired Up!" sucked big time, so I hope "Easy A" takes a different approach by delivering decent comedy. The cast, at least, is promising.
