Cameron Crowe buys a 'Zoo' in next film

Cameron Crowe hasn't directed a flick since 2005's "Elizabethtown" (which is a shame), but the man is finally back in action. Crowe has come on board to direct Fox's "We Bought a Zoo," the big-screen adaptation of Benjamin Mee's memoir. The film is set to open Dec. 23, 2010.

The story follows Mee as he uses his life savings to buy an old zoo. While prepping the reopening of the zoo, Mee also had to care for his wife, who was dying of cancer. With Crowe on board, this project sounds pretty interesting. Crowe's credits inlcude "Vanilla Sky" and "Almost Famous.
