'Resident Evil: Afterlife' trailer now online

The first trailer for "Resident Evil: Afterlife" debuted at WonderCon in San Francisco this weekend, and now you can check it out online. Let me tell you right away: in 2D, it doesn't look nearly as good as in RealD 3D. As you can see below, it looks flat, and not exactly compelling, but just wait until you get a shot at seeing it in 3D on the big screen. On there, it looks really cool.
In the sequel, Alice (Milla Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead.
The film was shot using the Fusion Camera System James Cameron built for "Avatar," and that's one of the reasons why I am looking forward to seeing this flick in theaters. Ali Larter will also be back in action, and as you can see below, she looks pretty damn good, as usual. Paul W.S. Anderson returned to direct "Afterlife," which hits theaters Sept. 10, 2010.
