'Clash of the Titans' wins overseas box office race
Louis Leterrier's "Clash of the Titans" is still ruling the international box office. This weekend, the Warner Bros. remake pulled in a solid $32 million, reaching an overseas total gross of $240.4 million.
Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" came in second, earning $26.7 million. The film has been playing for eight weeks now, but it's still going strong, and its cumulative gross now stands at $548.5 million.
Meanwhile, DreamWorks Animation's "How to Train Your Dragon" took the No. 3 spot this weekend with $11 million. The 3D-animated advenutre, the No. 1 movie in America, lifted its total to $194 million.
Also, France's comedy sequel "Camping 2" delivered an incredibly strong performance, generating $10 million at just 600 locations. It was enough to secure the fourth spot on the international circuit.
At No. 5, Shawn Levy's comedy "Date Night" collected $7 million for a total gross of $27.5 million. "The Bounty Hunter" earned $4.3 million, while "Shutter Island" picked up $3 million.
