Cary Elwes back for 'SAW VII 3D'

Liondgate has announced that Cary Elwes' Dr. Lawrence Gordon will return in "Saw VII" (also known as "Saw VII 3D"), or also known as the sequel no one really needs. Anyway, Elwes joins a cast that already includes Tobin Bell, Elwes, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Sean Patrick Flanery and Gina Holden.
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan penned the script, which Kevin Greutert will direct. As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw's brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors gathers to seek the support of self-help guru and fellow survivor Bobby Dagen, a man whose own dark secrets unleash a new wave of terror..."
What else? Oh yes, the film will debut in theaters Oct. 22, 2010. I admit Elwes delivered an intense performance in the first "Saw" flick, but I see no need for his return. On the other hand, they have to keep the main plot going in one way or the other, huh? Let's hope "Saw" comes to a final close soon.
