Dwayne Johnson seeking 'Protection'

Dwayne Johnson is defintiely returning to action, and even though that's not the greatest news on the planet, it's still better than watch him embarrass himself in terribly stupid family comedies. According to The Wrap, Johnson will star in "Protection," a thriller that once had Paul Walker and Clive Owen attached.

Brandon Noonan penned the script, which follows a former solider trying to protect a judge's daughter, the target of a ruthless Mexican drug cartel. Patrick Alessandrin was supposed to helm this one, but word is he dropped the project as well. The reasons for all these departures are unknown at this point.

Johnson was last seen in the disastrous "Tooth Fairy," and he popped up in an incredibly silly scene in "Why Did I Get Married Too?" He will show up in "The Other Guys," and he's also got "Faster" coming up soon. In that flick, he plays an ex-con who heads out to avenge the death of his brother.
