Summit searches top director for 'Breaking Dawn'

With "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" hitting theaters June 30, 2010, Summit Entertainment is obviously already working on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn," the fourth installment that may end up being split into two films. EW has learned exclusively that Summit has been approaching top directors for the job, including Sofia Coppola, Gus Van Sant and Bill Condon. Come again?
It is true, apparently. Summit really wants to make this last one a good one I guess, and they're contacting popular directors. Melissa Rosenberg will return to write the script(s), although I wish someone else would tackle the adaptation. The two first "Twilight" flicks all looked good, but in terms of story, they really kind of tanked (at least in my book).
Anyway, Coppola's credits include "Lost in Translation" and "Marie Antoinette." Condon directed "Dreamgirls," and Van Sant last helmed "Milk." Whatever happens, these names sure sound interesting. I'm also curious to see how David Slade did on "Eclipse." I can only hope the film beats the boredom I experience in "New Moon." We should know more about this soon.
