Tim Robbins has joined Martin Campbell's upcoming action adventure "Green Lantern," which is slated for release June 17, 2011. Warner Bros. is developing the film based on the DC Comics hero.
Heat Vision says Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the father of Dr. Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard), the film's villain, who is treated by his dad like a loser but later receives great powers
Ryan Reynolds plays Hal Jordan, a test pilot who comes into possession of a ring that holds great powers and later helps him become Green Lantern. Blake Lively will play Carol Ferris.
Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Michael Green, and Michael Goldenberg all worked on the "Lantern" script, and the film may start filming this March. Robbins was last seen in "City of Ember."

Interesting addition. It's about time Green Lantern got a movie, but I'm still pretty skeptical about Reynolds. Guy's not bad, just think he's too much of a pretty boy and he's also got the whole Deadpool thing going on which seems a lot more his style. Whatever, I'll still be seeing it. Thinking Sarsgaard will be a good villain though.
Great site btw. Keep it up!
