Robert Downey Jr. to star in 'Yucatan'

Robert Downey Jr. is on a roll. The "Sherlock Holmes" and "Iron Man" actor has signed on to star in "Yucatan," an adventure flick he will also produce with his wife Susan. The film is set up at Warner Bros.
Deadline reports Anthony Peckham is writing the script for "Yucatan," which is based on a story created by Steve McQueen. Downey Jr. plays a salvage expert hired to steal a treasure hidden underwater.
McQueen spent a lot of time planning the project via tons of notes and storyboards, which never took off. Warner set it up a few years ago, but further development failed until the Downey team picked it up.
As for Peckham, his recent writing credits include "Sherlock Holmes," "Invictus" and "Don't Say a Word." Downey Jr. has "Due Date," "Gravity," "The Avengers" and "Sherlock Holmes 2" coming soon.
