Darren Aronofsky to direct 'Wolverine 2'?

Okay, so Darren Aronofsky ("The Wrestler") wasn't picked to direct the new "Superman" as we now know, but apparently, he's got a shot at helming "X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2." That's what Vulture says.

The site says folks at 20th Century Fox have offered Aronofsky the gig. The thing is that the director has a bunch of other offers as well, which means we know anything for sure until he makes a decision.

Another project Aronofsky is looking at is "Tales from the Gangster Squad," which Warner offered to Ben Affleck. Vulture says Affleck passed on that one, and now the studio wants Aronofsky on the case.

Either way, I think we can look forward to whatever he will end up doing. I personally would love to see him direct the "Wolverine" sequel as long as he has his freedom to execute his specific vision...
