Jay Baruchel, Seann William Scott go 'Goon'

Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel, Alison Pill and Marc-Andre Grondin have all signed up for Michael Dowse's upcoming film "Goon," an independant hockey comedy written by Baruchel and Evan Goldberg.

The flick, according to THR, is inspired by Doug Smith and Adam Frattasio's book "Goon: The True Story of an Unlikely Journey into Minor League Hockey." Baruchel is also co-producting the project.

Scott plays bouncer Doug Glatt, who joins a pretty lame hockey team and inspires them to gain confidence and look toward a better future. Baruchel will play Doug's best buddy, and Pill is the female lead.

Baruchel recently starred in "She's Out of My League" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." Scott last appeared in "Cop Out." Pill will soon be seen in "Midnight in Paris," and Grondin starred in "C.R.A.Z.Y."
