Will Colin Farrell star in 'Total Recall' remake?

Colin Farrell in Total Recall?

Nothing is for sure yet, but it looks like Colin Farrell is on top of the list of candidates for the lead in Len Wiseman's upcoming "Total Recall" remake, which Neal H. Moritz will produce. Who else is on the list?

Heat Vision reports it's a short one, and besides Farrell, Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender are also in the run for the job. That said, Farrell is the frontrunner, although no deals are in place at this moment.

The original film, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, was set in the year 2084 and followed a man who goes to Mars via a memory implant and discovers the truth about himself. Paul Verhoeven directed it.

Kurt Wimmer, the guy behind "Salt," wrote the screenplay for the new version. Farrell would be a great pick, but he's a busy guy. It looks like he will shoot "By Virtue Fall" soon. He just wrapped "Fright Night."
