Box Office: 'The Social Network' stays on top

David Fincher's "The Social Network" made a late comeback this weekend and held on to the top spot at the North American box office with $15.5 million in ticket sales. Cume stands at $46 million.
Audiences definitely friended "Network" for a second weekend round, helping the film score an average of $5,594 per theater at 2,771 locations. That only marks a 30 percent drop from last weekend.
New entry "Life As We Know It" debuted in second place, earning $14.6 million from ticket sales at 3,150 loctions. Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel star as two individuals struggling to care for a baby.
Also opening this weekend was "Secretariat," Walt Disney's new horse movie with Diane Lane in the lead role as American racehorse owner Penny Chenery. The family adventure finished third with $12.6 million.
Wes Craven's "My Soul to Take," which debuted at 2,572 locations, only made it to No. 5 with a three-day gross of $6.9 million. Story follows a bunch of kids hunted down by a returning serial killer in a small town.
Meanwhile, "Legend of the Guardians" dropped to No. 4 this weekend, scoring $7 million for a total of $39.4 million. Ben Affleck's "The Town" slipped to No. 6 with $6.3 million for a cume of $73.7 million.
At No. 7, Oliver Stone's "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" banked another $4.6 million, lifting its total gross to $43.6 million. "Easy A" followed at No. 8 with $4.2 million for a cumulative gross of $48.1 million.
Rounding out the top 10 this weekend were "Case 39," which bagged $2.6 million in ninth place ($9.6 million total), and "You Again," which reached a total of $20.7 million after earnings of $2.4 million.
