Joe Johnston gives 'Captain America' update!

Joe Johnston's "The Wolfman" is scheduled to hit theaters in two weeks, but the director is already working on his next big project: "The First Avenger: Captain America," which is due in theaters in 2011.
Johnston recently talked to the Film Journal, and he even offered a short update on how things are moving along on "America." "We're in prep," he said. "Rick Heinrichs is production-designing..."
"We have eight or ten really talented artists, and we all just sit around all day and draw pictures and say, 'Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we could do this?'," he said. He likes this phase because money doesn't matter.
As far as the film's beginning is concerned, he said it will start "in 1942, 1943." "The stuff in the ’60s and ’70s [comic books] we're sort of avoiding. We're going back to the ’40s, and then forward..."
Sounds good to me at this point. Head over to the Film Journal to read a bit more about what he had to say. This at least confirms recent reports that he is already in pre-production. More to come soon, I'm sure.
