Mel Gibson is a 'Cold Warrior'?

There is a chance Mel Gibson will end up starring in the new film by Shane Black, screenwriter of "Lethal Weapon." The new project is titled "Cold Warrior," and the spy thriller is set up at Universal.

The Hollywood Reporter says the film was written by Charles Mondry and follows a Cold War spy leaving retirement to team up with a younger agent and tackle a domestic terrorist threat from Russia.

Looks like Mel is indeed trying to return and kick some butt onscreen. His latest film, "Edge of Darkness," opens this Friday, and although I can't say too much about it yet, I will say that it's not that bad of a flick.

What I can tell you though is that Gibson definitely still has what it takes to play a badass, so no worries there. Black also directed "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," which I really enjoyed. Go Mel, I guess...
