COMMENT: This is a surprise. But he deserves it. Although, I wanted Matt Damon to win this one.

WINNER: Up
COMMENT: Of course "Up" won. I loved it. Then again, I adored "Fantastic Mr. Fox" as well.
BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM
WINNER: The White Ribbon (Germany)
COMMENT: Cool. Heard lots of good things. I have to see it next week. It's finally playing here in San Francisco.

WINNER: Mo'Nique - Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire
COMMENT: No surprise here. I was hoping for one of the girls from "Up in the Air," but I can live with this.

WINNER: Christoph Waltz - Inglourious Basterds
COMMENT: Of course! He had to win. He's just amazing in this thing!
BEST DIRECTOR - MOTION PICTURE
WINNER: James Cameron - Avatar
COMMENT: Cameron is great, sure, but I am disappointed. Wanted Reitman to win.
BEST SCREENPLAY - MOTION PICTURE
WINNER: Jason Reitman & Sheldon Turner - Up in the Air
COMMENT: Now I'm happy. "Up in the Air" was my favorite film of 2009, and it totally deserves this award.
BEST ORIGINAL SCORE - MOTION PICTURE
WINNER: Michael Giacchino - Up
COMMENT: Nice. I liked the soundtrack very much. Preferred "Where the Wild Things Are," but what the heck.

you definitely need to check out dexter & US of tara. you'd enjoy them. grey gardens was quite good, too. :)
I Agree with every thing except Best picture for Avatar and I think it should have gone to Up in the Air or Hurt Locker.Being James Cameron fan my whole life this is the first time I didn't like James Cameron winning Best Picture other than Titanic because there other good movies too that got ignored but he certainly deserved the Best Director because he is one of the best directors present in hollywood right now.
