Will Mark Strong play Sinestro in 'Green Lantern'
Who will play Sinestro in 'Green Lantern'? It may be this guy...
Mark Strong has already proven he's got what it takes to play a great villain, and according to director Martin Campbell, he may step into the role of Sinestro in the upcoming Warner Bros. flick "Green Lantern."
Speaking excusively with MTV, director Campbell said Strong is in fact in negotiations to play one of the villains in the film that also stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard.
Early rumors suggested Jackie Earle Haley could play Sinestro, but Campbell said he never heard anything about it. On Mark Strong, he said, "He's not only a wonderful actor, but he looks like Sinestro."
Strong is currently onscreen as the main villain in "Sherlock Holmes," and he will soon also be seen as the bad guy in "Kick-Ass." He will also star in "Robin Hood," "The Way Back" and "The Eagle of the Ninth."
Reynolds plays Hal Jordan, a test pilot who comes into possession of a ring that holds great powers and later helps him become Green Lantern. Blake Lively will play Carol Ferris, who hires Jordan.
Sarsgaard is in talks to play Dr. Hector Hammond, a pathologist who is seen as a loser by his father. He acquires some badass powers when he finds a meteor and will eventually clash with the film's hero.
