Von Donnersmarck to direct 'The Tourist'

Will "The Tourist" ever get made? We've heard quite a lot about the project recently, and yet, it doesn't seem to get off the ground. Until now, because Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck is back to direct.
German filmmaker Von Donnersmarck ("The Lives of Others") was previously attached to the film a while ago, but he left the project because of creative differences. Variety now reports he's back to direct.
Casting issues plagued the film as well, but Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie are now starring in the remake of France's “Anthony Zimmer.” Christopher McQuarrie & Jeffrey Nachmanoff wrote the script.
The film centers on an American tourist (Depp) who faces great danger when a female Interpol agent (Jolie) tricks him into taking out a criminal she once had an affair with. The original film came out in 2005.
Von Donnersmarck's "The Lives of Others" won the Oscar for best foreign film. The director is also developing "The 28th Amendment," a drama written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
