Stuart Townsend leaves 'Thor;' replacement found
Mr. Townsend is mad and leaves 'Thor' one day before the shoot. He's already been replaced
Actor Stuart Townsend has not been pleased with the way things are going on Kenneth Branagh's upcoming Marvel flick "Thor," and that is why he has officially dropped out of the project. Creative differences be blamed!
The Hollywood Reporter says Townsend took off one day before shooting starts. A replacement has already be found, and the guy taking over is Joshua Dallas ("The Descent: Part 2"). Townsend was set to play Fandral, one of Thor's allies.
The film follows partially disabled medical student Dr. Donald Blake (Chris Hemsworth), who discovers his alter ego, the Norse god Thor. "Thor" is slated for release May 20, 2011. The cast also includes Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings and Stellan Skarsgård.
Dallas is also set to star in the George Lucas-produced "Red Tails." Townsend's credits also include "About Adam," "Queen of the Damned" and "Trapped."
