Here's a quick North American box office update: New Line Cinema's "The Final Destination" held on to the No. 1 spot during this extended holiday weekend with an estimated four-day total of $15.4 million. That brings the total gross of the fourth installment in the horror series to $50.6 million.
Quentin Tarantino's WWII drama "Inglourious Basterds" outran Sandra Bullock's comedy "All About Steve" Sunday, grabbing the No. 2 spot with a weekend gross of $15 million. The film's domestic gross currently stands at $95.2 million.
At No. 3, new entry "Steve" brought in $13.9 million. The film follows Bullock as a hyperactive crossword puzzle constructor who stops at nothing to be close to the love of her life (Bradley Cooper).
Also opening this weekend was Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine's "Gamer," an action spectacle that finished fourth with a gross of $11.2 million. Starring Gerard Butler, the flick is set in a world where humans control other humans in a deadly online multiplayer shooter game.
Also staying put through Monday at No. 5 was "District 9," which collected a four-day gross of $9 million for a domestic gross of $103.3 million.
